left hanging is Amina Riccetti´s durational performance of experimental aerial art exploring transgression and virtuosity within a feminist and intimate context.

Through multiple iterations, moderated feedback sessions, qualitative interviews and the engagement with feminist killjoy and consent theory, this exposition of artistic research developed into a cyclical durational performance and an installation at the intersection of Performance Art and aerial practice.

Emerging from a personal urgency as a survivor of rape to transgress patriarchal structures in aerial practice, the work unfolds as an intimate encounter. The aerial body becomes a vessel that holds and reflects a wider systemic issue: one in three women experiences gender-based violence. We are
